Gadus morhua

It’s hard to overestimate the importance of Atlantic Cod to America. Our insatiable hunger for this fish drove our relentless pursuit, and cod stocks have suffered mightily in the North Atlantic. Today, the Atlantic cod fishery is under strict management, and we’re much more controlled in our efforts.

Atlantic Cod is harvested with bottom trawls, gillnets, longlines and pots in the US, Canada, Norway, and Iceland.

Cod cooks up firm but tender, it’s versatile and delicious, and is a tasty addition to any menu.

We also carry salt cod, and a seasonal cod option known as Skrei – cod harvested as they make their annual return from the depths of the Barents Sea to their spawning grounds off the coast of northern Norway. Available January, March, and into April Skrei is a truly delicious way to enjoy wild Atlantic cod.
