The largest sockeye salmon harvest in the world happens in Alaska’s Bristol Bay region where the Kvichak, Naknek, Ugashik, Egegik, and Nushagak Rivers flow into the sea – these runs can number in the tens of millions of fish! Sockeye comes from around the state as well, including Prince William sound and waters in Southeast Alaska.
